Annual professional conference for doctoral students

HDI_konferencia

The Doctoral School of Hungarian Studies at the Faculty of Letters, Babeș-Bolyai University, is pleased to announce its annual professional conference for doctoral students. As in previous years, the conference aims to provide a platform for professional introduction, rigorous academic feedback, and a high-quality, recognized publication venue for PhD students specializing in literary studies, linguistics, and ethnography/anthropology. While the annual conference is an integral part of the training program of the Doctoral School of Hungarian Studies, it is open to all domestic and international doctoral students active in the school's fields of research.

Conference Date: Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Application: To apply, please send a working title and a 5–10 line abstract to hdidoktorikonferencia@gmail.com by March 17, 2026. Please include the author’s name, field of study (literary studies, linguistics, or ethnography), and the name of the thesis supervisor. Each presentation will be 15 minutes long, followed by a 5-minute discussion. In justified cases, free or paid accommodation can be provided on campus; please indicate your request for accommodation at the time of application.

Following feedback from the conference’s academic committee, presenters will prepare the final, edited version of their papers. The deadline for submission is July 15. Following a peer-review process, the studies will be published in a conference volume by a prestigious Romanian publishing house in the fall.

On behalf of the Doctoral School of Hungarian Studies, this year's organizers look forward to welcoming you:
